Bridge and engineering structure site technician

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbent will provide technical assistance to the project team by carrying out tasks related to the execution of construction projects in the office and on site, such as drawing, surveying and site monitoring. As needed, they supervise construction projects and perform other related tasks. More specifically, the site technician will be called upon to perform the following duties:

What will your working week be like?

  • Coordinate project management and coordination with the Project Manager;
  • Coordinate the execution of the work in collaboration with the Superintendent and/or Foreman, depending on the scope of the project;
  • Help plan and monitor the schedule throughout the project;
  • Conduct site visits;
  • Prepare material orders in collaboration with Project Managers and Foremen;
  • Coordinate projects with project managers, foremen and customers;
  • Record quantities and materials on worksites;
  • Take dimensional readings of components ;
  • Carry out project accounting in coordination with the Project Manager;
  • Ensuring final closure of the various sites;
  • Act as technical support for the operations team and site workers, in collaboration with the Project Manager;
  • Coordinate technical monitoring and quality inspections (technical data sheets, inspections, etc.);
  • All other tasks generally carried out by a similar position in the industry.

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Hold a DEC in civil engineering;
  • At least 5 years' relevant experience;
  • Experience in repairing engineering structures would be an asset.
  • Strong management, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to show initiative and leadership;
  • Ability to work in a team ;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Project;
  • A valid driving licence;
  • Flexibility and availability in terms of working hours (24/7) ;
  • Demonstrated initiative and autonomy;
  • Dynamic and reliable;
  • Focus on achieving results;
  • Ability to give and receive criticism.
